SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY LA (ATRIUM BUILDING)

APM Group were presented with the challenge to construct a new three-level building within an existing atrium on the operational campus, APM developed an innovative construction methodology to overcome the access and hoisting restraints of the project. The completed project included a suspended steel bridge connecting the new suspended levels to existing teaching facilities. A detailed staging and communication plan was developed by APM and Swinburne facilities managing to reduce disruption for the existing user groups whilst maintaining continuity of construction to deliver the project six weeks ahead of schedule.
